Our Story
A journey that begins with love
Our journey began with a deep passion for nurturing young minds and fostering a love for learning, particularly in the realm of language. As a teacher, JiaJia Laoshi have always seen education as a partnership—a journey that is best taken together with students, parents, and the community. The learning environment is just as important as the lessons themselves. When children feel loved and valued, they are more likely to take risks, ask questions, and fully engage in the learning process.
In her years of teaching, she faced the challenge of balancing effective teaching with creating a fun and engaging learning experience. Through reflection and experience, she discovered that the best lessons are not just well-structured but also filled with warmth, creativity, and interaction. She found that when students enjoy learning, they absorb knowledge more effectively, build confidence, and develop a lifelong curiosity for language.
Today, JiaJia Laoshi Learning Services stands as a place where children of all ages—whether they’re just beginning their Mandarin journey or mastering complex Chinese language skills—can grow in an environment that is both nurturing and stimulating. Every lesson we offer is built upon the foundation of love, patience, and respect for the individual. We believe in using creative methods that make learning enjoyable, such as songs, storytelling, interactive activities, and cultural experiences, all while ensuring that each child receives personalized attention and encouragement.
Meet our founder
Our founder, Diao Kejia Laoshi—affectionately known by her students as JiaJia Laoshi—holds a Master of Arts in Language Studies from the National University of Singapore and a Bachelor of Arts in Chinese Language and Literature from Beijing Language and Culture University. With over 8 years of teaching and curriculum writing experience in Singapore, she is highly familiar with the local education system.
JiaJia Laoshi has also served as a vice-principal at a tuition centre in Singapore, where she further developed her leadership and educational management capabilities. During her time there, she played a key role in designing comprehensive and effective Chinese learning materials. Notably, she contributed to the development of Chinese assessment books for Educational Publishing House (EPH)—a testament to the depth and quality of our centre’s curriculum.
Her qualifications include certifications from esteemed institutions such as the Hawaii Teacher Standards Board, Cambridge English, and the State Language Commission. She is also QTS-certified (Qualified Teacher Status) by the Department for Education in England.
